Interviewing Style
Job Seeker Tips for Successful Interviews
- Research the Company prior to your first visit. A lot of useful information can be found
in the company's quarterly reports and recent business news.
- Know the Company's web site, products and services.
- Allow sufficient commuting time to arrive 10 minutes early.
- If you arrive too early, bring a book or magazine and wait in the parking lot.
- Make a good impression. Practice greeting the interviewer, your handshake, and
your closing.
- Be prepared to discuss specific progams or projects that are relevant to the
position. This will help to eliminate that uncomfortable silence after the
interviewer asks a question.
- Be sure that your correspondence to the prospective employer is neat, addressed to the
correct individual, and free of grammatical and spelling errors.
- Always send a follow-up thank you letter, via regular mail or e-mail.
- On the day of the interview, be prepared, be prompt, and be professional.
